How does the HCG Diet work?

HCG is administered in the form of a nasal spray or an injection, following a 26 or 40 day schedule.  Coupled with a non carbohydrate diet of 500 calories daily, dramatic weight loss has been accomplished by allowing the abnormal fat cells to be released and circulated through the blood stream for metabolism.

How will you not be exhausted and starving following a 500 calorie diet?  HCG allows abnormal fat cells to leave the storage area and to circulate in the blood stream for metabolism.  Because of this, your body is getting energy from those cells that have been stored in your body.  It seems that HCG brings about this continued saturation of the blood, which is the reason why obese and overweight patients under treatment with HCG never feel hungry or tired in spite of their drastially reduced food intake.

Upon completion of your course of HCG, you will follow the same 500 calorie diet for 3 days following the last spray or injection.  Afterword, you are to follow a healthy diet, avoiding sugars and starches, and you should keep a bathroom scale on hand to monitor your weight.

500 Calorie Diet

Breakfast:  Tea or coffee in any quantity without sugar.  Only 1 tablespoonful of milk allowed in 24 hours.  Saccharin or stevia may be used.

Lunch:  1) 100 grams of veal, beef, chicken breast, fresh white fish, lobster, crab, or shrimp.  All visible fats must be carefully removed before cooking, and the meat must be weighed raw.  It must be boiled or grilled without additional fat.  Salmon, eel, tuna, herring, dried or pickled fish are not allowed.  The chicken breast must be removed from the bird.  2)  One type of vegetable only to be chosen from the following:  spinach, chard, chicory, beet-greens, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage.  3) One breadstick or melba toast.  4) An apple, orange, or a handful of strawberries or one-half grapefruit.

Dinner:  The same four choices as lunch.

The juice of one lemon daily is allowed for all purposes.  Salt, pepper, vinegar, mustard powder, garlic, sweet basil, parsley, thyme, majoram, may be used for seasoning, but no oil, butter or dressing.

Tea, coffee, plain water, or mineral water are the only drinks allowed, but they may be taken in any quantity and at all times.
